LAHORE: The police has recorded the initial statement of Abid Ali’s wife, the prime suspect in the Lahore motorway rape case that shocked the country a few days ago.
Another suspect identified as Shafqat Ali was arrested a few days ago and remanded into police custody after confessing to the involvement in Lahore motorway rape case. However, the prime suspect, Abid Ali, still remains at large with his whereabouts unknown.

Abid Ali’s wife Bushra Bibi gave her initial statement to the police today telling them about her husband being worried when he came home the night of the incident.
According to Bushra Bibi, her husband fled after he was identified and took shelter in Manga Mandi but she was not aware of his present location.
The police acted on a tip they received and were able to arrest Abid Ali’s wife from a house in Faisalabad. According to the police, the couple also has a daughter together.
So far several relatives and friends of the prime suspect have been taken into custody as part of the on going investigation and raids carried out to locate Abid Ali.
Lahore motorway gang rape incident
A woman was gang raped on Lahore motorway in front of her children on Wednesday after her car broke down stranding her on the road.
According to sources, the woman called motorway police for help but was denied assistance due to jurisdiction issues after which she was spotted by the assailants who attacked her car.
The culprits forced the woman along with her children out of the car and took them to a nearby field where they gang raped the woman and then robbed her of all valuables immediately fleeing the scene.
