President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi, on Sunday approved the summary of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Kamran Tessori as Sindh Governor after a delay of several months.
According to the details, the summary for the appointment of Kamran Tessori as the Governor of Sindh was moved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the presidency and approved by President Arif Alvi as per article 101-1 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention that Sindh Governor’s post had been vacant ever since Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail tendered his resignation five months ago following the ouster of PTI Chairman Imran Khan as Prime Minister through a no-confidence motion in the parliament.
In the meanwhile, Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani had been performing as the acting governor of the province, while a decision to name a new governor, had been hanging in the air.
