KARACHI: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be meeting tomorrow for Muharram ul Haram 2020 moon sighting according to a statement by Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
The meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be presided over by Chairman Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman in Karachi after Asr prayers while zonal meeting will take place in their respective districts.
Earlier a notification was issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department stating a good change for the Muharram ul Haram 2020 moon to be sighted on the 20th of August (Thursday).
According to the statement by the Met Office, the new Muharram 2020 moon will be born on crossing conjunction point at 07:42 Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on August 19.
Therefore, there is a good change of sighting of the moon on the evening of August 20 on 29th of Zilhaj, 1441 AH and if the moon is sighted as predicted, Youm-e-Ashura will be observed across the country on August 30 (Sunday).
