As of 8:00 AM PST, Multan has surpassed Lahore to record the worst air quality levels in Pakistan. Earlier this morning, Lahore had the highest Air Quality Index (AQI) among major cities, but Multan has now taken the lead, reflecting significant pollution levels across the region.
In the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, air quality remains in the “unhealthy” category. Although locals reported light drizzling in some parts of Rawalpindi earlier this morning, no rain was observed in Islamabad, and the weather conditions did not lead to a notable improvement in air quality.
The capital city, Islamabad, is also experiencing persistently high pollution levels. However, weather forecasts indicate that rain is expected from tomorrow, which should bring some relief and help reduce pollution levels across the region.
