A lady constable, identified as 21-year-old Iqra, of the Islamabad Police died on Friday under mysterious circumstances after she went to the residence of Superintendent of Police (SP) and a murder case has been registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) to investigate the matter and bring the killer to justice.
According to the details, the lady constable, who was posted in Islamabad Police Lines HQ, was brought to Polyclinic Hospital in unconscious condition and it was ascertained that she had been poisoned. Furthermore, the dead body of the lady constable has been sent for post-mortem and a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged to investigate the incident.
The Islamabad Police has registered a case under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and investigation is underway to find the murderer of the lady constable and a special inquiry committee has been formed by the Inspector-General of Police Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas in the matter.
According to reports, the acts of the SP have made the police investigators suspicious as he tried to cover the murder case by shifting the lady constable to Polyclinic Hospital in Islamabad rather than reporting the matter. The SP had told the hospital staff that Iqra had fell unconscious due to a heart attack, adding that she took some poisonous pills due to unknown reasons.
The statement of the SP had raised suspicion over the circumstances of the lady constable’s death, therefore, the investigation was launched to determine the exact cause of her death. The matter is being investigated and no further details are available yet.
