Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the National Science and Technology park in Islamabad which is said to be the country’s biggest and largest innovation and research ecosystem.
The ceremony took place today in Islamabad and the PM said that the government will support this initiative as best as it can to enable youth to reach their potential.
PM Imran Khan said:
Equipping the youth with the latest technologies will help create immense opportunities for them,
The park is located at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Islamabad.
He also made a statement regarding the appointment of Fawad Chaudhry as the Minister of Science and Technology saying:
I was criticised for appointing Fawad Chaudhry as minister for science and people used to say that I am not taking science and technology seriously but a good captain knows best about which players should play on which number.
He also told the students to never give up if they encounter struggle and hardships and make it a part of their lives. He said:
Always follow your heart because therein lies passion to achieve greatness,
He further added:
You should not be disheartened by any setback you face in life as setbacks alone cannot defeat you,
This initiative is being taken to transform the country into a knowledge economy.
Recently Digital Pakistan Campaign was inaugurated by PM Khan to digitize all correspondence between public offices. This initiative is being led by Tania Aidrus who left her job as an executive at Google to work on this project.
Tehreek-e-Insaf is aimed at advancing Pakistan technologically through its Government’s Digitization programme.
