PTI’s district information secretary Naveed Aslam, who was previously appointed as coordinator to Punjab Women Protection Authority [PWPA] has been turned down for the post, owing to his woman harassing past incident. The decision has been taken by Kinza Fatima chadhar, who had earlier allotted the official.
Naveed Aslam had been booked in for slapping a senior female servant previously. Hence, the decision of his selection as an official of women welfare organization had bought the selecting council under hot waters. However, according to the latest notification, Naveed will no more be the member of a women based firm.
Naveed Aslam is a Sahiwal district information leader, hailing from foremost political organization Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf [PTI]. In recent times, the Punjab Women Protection Authority [PWMA] chairperson Kaniz Fatima Chadhar allotted Naveed Aslam as coordinator to the aforementioned organization.
However, this selection had raised tons of objections, as human activists strong-mindedly opposed the verdict. The reason of this latest stir was Naveed Aslam’s previous women-dealing archive that does not fit well with the qualities of a PWPA official, therefore justifying the frenzy.
Backstory of Naveed Aslam
Going back to September 2020, the not so respectable official Naveed Aslam was booked in over slapping and insulting a Senior Female Postmaster [SFP] officer Sofia Qasim. Consequently, a first information report [FIR] was lodged against Naveed on September 24th, in Ghala Mandi police station.
Following the FIR Naveed was immediately taken into custody by the Ghala Mandi police officials over harassing a woman. However, inappropriate clauses of penal code strengthened the offender’s end as he was granted bail the very next day.
The next court hearing of Aslam before judicial magistrate Samina Ijaz was scheduled for November 19th. But, using his political dominance, Naveed Aslam got it called off as the session court judge Munir Hussain Gil dismissed the petition on October 21st.

Sofia’s council accused Naveed of exploiting his position to influence the case, saying his latest posting was another attempt to move the case in favor of the culprit. Nevertheless, Sofia isn’t the one to let go easily, as she is still battling for justice.
Having knowledge of Naveed’s past record and still appointing him as a coordinator, that too to a women’s welfare organization justifies the public frenzy. The individual who has been charged over violating a woman cannot provide security and protection to other females also.
It is pertinent to mention, that following the responses, Kaniz Fatima Chadhar had stated about having no prior awareness about the case against Naveed Aslam. Moreover, she also hinted that the appointment against the alleged would be reviewed. Hence, considering Naveed’s previous woman dealing history, he was immediately dismissed from the organization.
