Naya Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP) is now offering deserving people (widows, disabled and laborers) the chance to own their own homes through payment of just 10 percent cost of the houses being constructed under the initiative.
The announcement was made by Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Bukhari while addressing a ceremony in connection with allotment of 1,500 houses and flats to the working class under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP) alongside Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to the SAPM, the homes under the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme (NPHP) cost just Rs. 2,324,000 and people can get the chance to own their own house by paying just 10 percent of the total cost while remaining will be paid over a period of 5 to 20 years.
He said that the first phase of the Naya Pakistan Housing Project (NPHP) had been completed by the Workers Welfare Fund and 1508 families were being given the newly constructed residential homes which included flats and houses.
Bukhari said that the next phase of the program involves 1504 more flats that will be constructed and this was just the beginning of providing low-cost housing to poor segment of the society, which is something that previous governments never focused on during the last several years.
Under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP), the homes will be distributed among the deserving segment of society especially widows, disabled and laborers with earning less than Rs. 0.5 million while the government has introduced a legislation under which banks will provide loans on 5 percent interest rate for the construction of homes.
The premier while addressing the ceremony said that there is a boom in the contraction industry because of the present government and this will not only create wealth but more job opportunities as well in the country.
