The National Electric Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in the electricity tariff for K-Electric (KE) consumers on account of Fuel Charges Adjustments (FCA).
According to the details, the K-Electric (KE) consumers will get a relief of Rs. 3.3 billion due to the reduction in the electricity tariff on account of the Fuel Charges Adjustments (FCA).
The consumers will witness a reduction in the electricity rates by Rs. 5.59 per kWh for the month of December 2021 and the relief will be given to the consumers in the bills of March 2022.
The power tariff reduction for K-Electric (KE) consumers will apply to everyone, except lifeline consumers, domestic consumers consuming up to 300 units and agriculture consumers of K-Electric.
“It is hereby clarified that negative adjustment on account of monthly FCA is also applicable to the domestic consumers having Time of Use (ToU) metres irrespective of their consumption level,” said the statement issued in this regard.
Furthermore, it bears mentioning that in case, the incremental industrial and winter incentive package becomes applicable in K-Electric, the amount of negative Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) allowed to such consumers would be adjusted in the subsequent adjustments of K-Electric.
