The World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai, scheduled from February 12 to 14, 2024, will attract more than 300 leaders including prime ministers, heads of international organizations, business leaders and eight Nobel laureates. The summit will be dedicated to the topic of artificial intelligence (AI) and will involve such notable individuals as Sam Altman, co-founder of OpenAI, and Jensen Huang, president of Nvidia Corporation. The event will also feature the annual meeting for the Time 100 AI list, which highlights significant people in AI.
According to Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and chairman of WGS, AI has a great impact on daily lives. He identified AI as one of the major transformative forces, predicting enormous changes in 1,000 years to come, which could solve many problems.
The leaders, experts and officials from more than 150 nations will visit Dubai to discuss the ways of forming future governments and innovative solutions for the approaching challenges. The summit will have fifteen conferences on AI, government services, urbanization, education and smart mobility in addition to six other conferences about health, sustainable development, future economies and advanced technology.
With over 4,000 participants from the public and private sectors engaging in 110 interactive sessions, the summit will host 200 speakers representing 80 international, regional, and intergovernmental organizations.
WGS has evolved into a knowledge platform for innovative ideas, attracting global minds working for the betterment of the world. The summit will witness the presence of future creators from the private sector, with this year’s edition hosting eight Nobel Prize winners and featuring 23 ministerial sessions.
Focusing on six main themes, including Government Acceleration and Transformation, Artificial Intelligence and The Next Frontiers, Reimagining Development and Future Economies, Future Societies and Education, Sustainability and The New Global Shifts, and Urbanization and Global Health Priorities, WGS will also recognize outstanding contributions with awards such as the Best Minister Award, Dubai International Best Practices Award for Sustainable Development, Edge of Government Award, Best Government Application Award, and Global Government Excellence Award.
Over the past decade, WGS has seen participation from more than 50 presidents, 2,500 ministers, 1,550 speakers, and 38,000 participants.
