The Pakistan Army recently shot down an Indian spying quadcopter / drone that trespassed into Pakistani airspace near the Line of Control (LoC), as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The incident occurred on February 25, and the remains of the quadcopter were discovered on Pakistani territory the following day. The quadcopter bore markings identifying it as belonging to the Indian Army, confirming its origin.
This event coincides with the fifth anniversary of Operation Swift Retort, also known as Surprise Day in Pakistan, commemorating the response to Indian aggression on February 27, 2019. The ISPR highlighted the significance of this operation, emphasizing the resolve of the Pakistani people and the professionalism of their armed forces in the face of unwarranted Indian actions driven by political and electoral motives.
During Operation Swift Retort, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) effectively countered Indian incursions, downing two Indian aircraft and capturing an Indian pilot. This response shattered India’s perception of invincibility and military superiority. In contrast to Indian claims of inflicting significant casualties on terrorist targets in Pakistan, independent reports and satellite imagery contradicted these assertions.
In a retaliatory move, PAF jets crossed the LoC, resulting in the downing of an Indian MiG-21 and the capture of its pilot. This unexpected turn of events exposed India’s exaggerated claims of military prowess and supremacy.
Overall, the ISPR’s statement underscores Pakistan’s steadfastness and competence in defending its sovereignty against Indian aggression. The events of Operation Swift Retort serve as a testament to Pakistan’s operational superiority and its ability to effectively counter hostile actions.
