Prime Minister Imran Khan posted came to Twitter to express his condolences over the deaths in Turkey after the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that took place offering assistance should they need it.
The death toll in the Turkey earthquake has climbed to more than 22 people with over a 1000 injured.
PM Imran Khan expressing his sadness over the earthquake incident said in his tweet:
Deeply saddened by the loss of so many precious lives and of hundreds injured in Turkey’s earthquake.
further adding:
Our thoughts and prayers are with the brotherly people and government of Turkey. Pakistan stands by them and is ready to lend any assistance in this hour of need.
The Chief of Army of Staff General Qamar Bajwa has also expressed his condolences for the incident and lives lost, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Based on reports by the military’s media wing, rescue and relief teams are standing by to help when needed.
Rescue teams continue to work to get buried people out of the rubble of collapsed buildings according to the Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
People were distrubuted blankets over night my emergency workers as temperatures dropped below freezing. Many people that were affected by the earthquake stayed in mosques. schools or sports halls.
The earthquake took place at 8:55 pm local time and was recorded at a 6.8 magnitude and with aftershocks that were recorded at 5.4 magnitude.
Many buildings were destroyed including 25 in Malatya province.
