ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported 2,738 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in a single day while 36 more people lost their lives to the deadly disease across the country.
The second wave of coronavirus in Pakistan is already here and number of new cases are surging every day while the government is urging people to strictly follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the health ministry to control the spread of the virus.

The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 25,719, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 43,359, Sindh 159,752, Punjab 112,893, Balochistan 16,642, Azad Kashmir 5,806 and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,494. This brings the total number of people infected with the virus at 368,665.
The death toll from coronavirus has reached 7,561 in Pakistan with Sindh having the highest reported figure of 2,780 while there are 2,811 fatalities in Punjab, 1,319 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 266 in Islamabad, 93 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 158 in Balochistan, and 134 in Azad Kashmir.
Face masks have been made mandatory by the provincial government along with implementing a work from home policy where essential and required staff can be called into offices while the rest operate from home.
Furthermore, a ban has been implemented on indoor weddings from today (November 20th) while outdoor marriages have been restricted to 300 guests to control the spread of coronavirus.
