ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported 2,142 coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours while 83 more people lost their lives to the deadly infection according to the data provided by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).
According to the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), the countrywide tally of coronavirus cases has reached 462,814 while 9,557 people have succumbed to the deadly disease since the start of the pandemic.
However, it is pertinent to mention that 415,352 coronavirus patients have also recovered while 37,905 are currently undergoing treatment.

Earlier today, the Sindh education minister Saeed Ghani said that schools are unlikely to reopen in January because of the ongoing second wave of the coronavirus pandemic while addressing a press conference in Karachi.
Educational institutes were closed last month from 26th November till 10th January 2020 on the recommendation of the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country.
Schools were supposed to reopen on January 11th after a meeting of all education ministers keeping in view the coronavirus situation across the country at the time.
