Pakistan has started coronavirus vaccination for children aged 16 to 18 years old who are planning on travelling abroad, said the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan.
Dr Faisal Sultan told Geo.tv that children aged 16 to 18 years old are now eligible to get the coronavirus vaccination if they have to go overseas for education or other reasons.
These children will have to follow the same process of registering for the vaccination via the government’s 1166 helpline and wait for the information about a health center.
Pakistan has so far vaccinated 7,239,268 people, which is 10.3% of the adult population. It bears mentioning that walk-in vaccinations are now open for everyone over the age of 18 years.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has crossed the daily target of 1 million vaccinations. “Happy to report that the target we had set for 1 million vaccinations in a day was crossed yesterday with 10 lakh 72 thousand vaccinations.” said Asad Umar, the head of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
