According to a spokesperson from the Pakistani Consulate in Dubai, the repatriation of the remaining Pakistani passengers is being arranged on various flights by tonight.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai had confirmed that the reason that all these Pakistanis were deported from Dubai was because they did not meet the requirements of entry.
As per the UAE immigration rules, these passengers were traveling without a hotel reservation or relative’s reference and did not have a return ticket on hand which is required for entry into the country.
Meanwhile several hundred passengers from other nationalities were also deported from Dubai. These mostly belonged to labor-sending Asian or African countries including India.
