The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has announced that Pakistanis over the age of 18 can get vaccinated if they are traveling abroad, however, there are certain circumstances.
“In order to facilitate those Pakistanis who are working aboard on work visa (other than Pakistanis having dual citizenship), students studying aboard and Seafarers, the NCOC has devised a policy for their vaccination.” said the NCOC in a notification issued on Thursday.
The decision was taken to accommodate people working and studying abroad since vaccination has become a requirement by major incorporations, various employers, educational institutions and shipping companies.
Pakistanis working abroad on work visa
These Pakistanis can simply walk into any coronavirus vaccination center and get vaccinated by showing their passport, valid work visa or iqama. These individuals will be added to the NIMS database by the CVS staff and a certificate for vaccination will be issued from NADRA website or NADRA office as per standard procedure.
Students Studying Abroad
Students studying abroad can follow the same rules and walking in to any coronavirus vaccination center, show their valid study visa and get vaccinated for COVID-19. They will be entered into the NIMS database and issued a certificate of vaccination from NADRA website or office.
Seafarer
Any registered seafarer from Ministry of Maritime Affairs can walk into any CVS, show their registration certificate as a Seafarer and get vaccinated. They will be provided with a certificate of vaccination from NADRA after being entered into the NIMs database.
Clinical Guidelines for Vaccination
The clinical guidelines for vaccination issued by Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation, and Coordination state that the AstraZeneca vaccine will be administered to people above 40 while people over 18 will be given Sinopharm, Cansino and Sinovac vaccine.
Furthermore, the duration between jabs is 12 weeks for AstraZeneca, 3 weeks for Sinopharm and 4 weeks for Sinovac.
