The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan has decided to extend the operating hours/timings of BRT buses, making it easier for people in Peshawar to travel. The Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, personally gave the order to keep the BRT service running until midnight. This decision comes as Eid-ul-Fitr approaches, which sees a rise in people using BRT buses, especially since markets stay open late for Eid shopping.
Starting immediately, BRT buses will run until midnight instead of stopping at 10 pm as usual. Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized the importance of extending the service to help citizens with their Eid shopping. As a result, BRT buses from Chamkani to factories will also run until midnight.
Peshawar BRT is a successful transportation project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, recognized internationally. It includes special buses on the main route and feeder routes across Peshawar, ensuring accessibility for residents from all parts of the city. Reports indicate that hundreds of thousands of passengers use the BRT bus service daily, highlighting its crucial role in Peshawar’s transportation system.
