ISLAMABAD: The petrol prices in Pakistan has been increased from 16 July 2021 till 31 July 2021 on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan after reviewing the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), said Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Dr Shahbaz Gill.
According to the announcement, the petrol price in Pakistan has been increased by Rs. 5.40 per litre bringing the new rate at Rs. 118.09 per litre while high-speed diesel (HSD) price in Pakistan has been hiked by Rs. 2.54 per litre bringing the new rate at Rs. 116.53 per litre.
Meanwhile, prices of Kerosene oil and light-speed diesel (LDO) have been increased by Rs. 1.39 per litre and Rs. 1.27 per litre respectively, bringing new rates to Rs.87.14 per litre and Rs. 24.67 per litre.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had originally recommended an increase of Rs. 11.5 per litre in the petrol price and Rs. 2.40 in the diesel price. Similarly, the regulatory body has proposed an increase of Rs. 1.40 per litre in the price of light speed diesel and Rs. 1.5 per litre in the price of kerosene oil. However, the prime minister did not approve of the massive hike.

The new petrol prices in Pakistan will go into effect from 16 July 2021 for the remainder of the month till 31 July 2021.
