The petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to witness a major reduction from the next fortnight starting December 16, 2023, providing a much needed relief for the inflation-burdened population. According to reports, price of petrol will likely get a reduction of Rs. 13 per litre, while High-Speed Diesel (HSD) could witness a price cut of Rs. 15 per litre.
This relief has been made possible from dip in global oil prices as price of petrol per barrel has dropped by $5.49 to $94.95, and diesel decreased by $5.13 to $100.05. Furthermore, the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) has also been stable against the US Dollar (USD) for the past few weeks.
At present, the petrol price in Pakistan stands at Rs. 281.34 per litre, while High-Speed Diesel (HSD) is being sold for Rs. 289.79 per litre. The government will make a final decision regarding fuel price revision on December 15, and if approved, the new prices will be applicable from December 16.
