Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced discounted fare for those planning to perform Umrah in the coming month until July 15.
A PIA spokesperson stated that Umrah pilgrims traveling from Pakistan to Madina will now enjoy lower ticket prices until July 15.
For a round-trip, the fare from Lahore or Islamabad to Madina is now Rs. 86,000, and from Karachi to Madina, it’s Rs. 76,000. These prices do not include taxes. Previously, the cost of an Umrah ticket was Rs. 120,000.
The discounted rates are effective immediately and will be available until July 15, according to the spokesperson.
Umrah, which can be performed year-round at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, saw a new season start earlier this month. This follows the annual Hajj pilgrimage, which this year was attended by 1.8 million Muslims from around the world.
Saudi Arabia is reportedly aiming to increase the number of Muslims performing Umrah to 30 million annually.
