Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane narrowly escaped an accident on Monday after its tires burst while landing at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
According to a PIA spokesperson, it is possible that the tires of the PIA plane burst while taking off at Gwadar Airport as Air Traffic Control had informed the captain that he had witnessed some rubber pieces on the runway.
“It is feared that there was something on the Gwadar Airport runway which damaged the tire.” said the PIA spokesperson. Furthermore, an investigation has been launched into the incident.
Despite the tire burst, the captain of the PIA flight demonstrated their professional skills and capabilities by managing to safely land the aircraft at its destination in Karachi with all passengers and crew members of the plane.
Earlier in April, PIA’s Jeddah-bound flight also had to make an emergency landing at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi after the aircraft’s windscreen developed some cracks after take-off from the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.
