Government of Sindh has placed a pillion riding ban in Karachi for period of 30 days according to a notification issued by the Sindh Home Department.
According to the notification, the pillion riding ban in Karachi is being implemented on the request of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) who conveyed reports of miscreants trying to disrupt peace by carrying out target killings.
The decision comes shortly after the killing of Jamia Farooqia International University in charge Maulana Dr Adil Khan who was gunned down along with his driver at Shah Faisal area of Karachi last last.

In order to maintain the law and order situation, a pillion riding ban has been placed in Karachi for a period of 30 days starting 11th October, 2020.
However, it is pertinent to mention that the aforementioned ban is applicable on women, children below age 12, senior citizens, personnel of law enforcement, employees in essential services and journalists.
Furthermore, it has been ordered to register complaints and take further action if necessary against the violators under law.
