Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch the ‘Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive‘ in Islamabad on Monday (6 December 2021) in an attempt to revive the sports culture in the country. The inauguration of the ‘Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive’ will take place at the Jinnah Stadium Sports Complex in Islamabad.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar said that the ‘Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive’ will be the biggest ever sports programme in the country’s history. He added that the initiative will enable active participation of the youth in healthy physical activities.
The Kamyab Jawan Sports Program will be launched in two stages with 12 different games for males and 10 games for female being arranged across 25 regions under the Talent Hunt Program in the first phase of the initiative. The games in the first phase include hockey, cricket, football, handball, wrestling, weightlifting, squash, volleyball, ski, judo, boxing and athletics.
It is pertinent to mention that the age bracket for both categories will be 11 to 25 years and the drive is part of four projects worth four billion rupees being started in the country to keep encourage youth into extracurricular and sports activities.
According to the Prime Minister Imran Khan, the provision of sports facilities to youth is one of the top priorities of the government. “The government is focused to provide sports facilities to youth,” the premier stated while chairing a high-level meeting on the National Sports Policy and Overhauling of Sports Governance Structure in Islamabad.
Furthermore, the successful youngsters will be given world class professional training in their field.
