The newly elected Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday announced an end of two weekly holidays as well as new office timings to be observed by government offices. The premier also issued directives to implement the relief package announced earlier immediately after being elected as the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan.
According to the details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ended the two weekly holidays and government offices will now remain open six days a week instead, which means only Sunday is going to be the weekly off day for government employees. Moreover, the premier has also changed the government office timings from 10:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
On his first day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached the PM Office at 7:00AM and sent everyone into panic as his surprise arrival early in the morning worried the staff and officers who had not reached yet. The officers and other employees who had not reached by that time rushed as it was the newly elected Prime Minister’s first day.
The premier issued orders to for the immediate implementation of the economic relief measures announced earlier in the National Assembly after he was elected the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan. On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced various economic relief measures for the people.

He announced that minimum wave of government employees will be increased to Rs. 25,000, while a 10 percent increase will be implemented to the pensions of retired civil, and military officials. He added that these changes will be implemented w.e.f. 1st April 2022.
The premier also announced that cheap wheat will be made available for the public through the Utility Stores, while the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) would be restored, which would likely put an end to the PTI’s Ehsaas Kafalat Program. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif added that Benazir Card will also be introduced for the masses and interlinked with the education sector in a bid to facilitate people whose children go to school.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that laptops and technical education would be made available for the youth of the country. It is pertinent to mention that during PML-N’s tenure from 2013 to 2018, the students were provided with laptops and tablets based on their merit.
He further issued orders ensure the supply of quality and subsidized goods in Ramadan Bazaars, saying that he will personally monitor Ramadan Bazaars. “I will not tolerate negligence in providing subsidized goods to the people during Ramadan,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention that Shehbaz Sharif was elected the 23rd Prime Minister of Pakistan after securing 174 votes in the National Assembly opposed to opposed to PTI’s candidate Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who received no votes after his party members decided to boycott the election process and submit their resignations from the assemblies.
