A policeman has been martyred in Karachi after an encounter with four fleeing dacoits led to exchange of fire according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Sajid Suddozai.
The martyred Karachi policeman has been identified as Sub Inspector Rahim Khan was deployed as an additional Station House Officer (SHO) at Gulistan-e-Johar Police Station.
According to reports, a gang of dacoits Fled from Ferozabad Police after a heavy exchange of fire and Rahim Khan and his team were trying to stop the suspects as they entered their jurisdiction.

However, the dacoits ignored all warnings and proceeded to flee while firing on the police personnel. Rahim Khan and his team started chasing the suspects when he policeman was shot and martyred with a submachine gun according to the initial investigation by police.
According to police officials, the dacoits were also injured in the crossfire and they believe that a man in police uniform was present in their car as well.
Police has been able to identify one of the vehicles that was left behind the by suspects and belongs to a man named Junaid Buland, a resident of Mirpurkhas.
CCTV footage of the incident has been circulating on social media showing the police in pursuit of the suspects vehicle and engaging with them.
