The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called for a nationwide protest tomorrow to safeguard the sanctity of the vote, given the current lead of independent candidates with 102 seats.
Following a core committee meeting, the PTI decided to organize ‘peaceful protests’ across the country at 02:00 pm tomorrow to uphold the sanctity of the vote. The meeting also addressed election results and outlined future plans. Discussions were held regarding affiliations with specific political parties.
Key decisions were reached during the meeting, and the PTI stated that these would be implemented after consulting with PTI founder Imran Khan.
Emphasizing that the people had expressed their verdict peacefully and constitutionally, the PTI asserted that it is now crucial to protect the mandate.
With results announced for 257 out of the total 265 National Assembly constituencies where elections were held, independent candidates led with 102 seats. The PML-N and PPP secured 73 and 54 seats, respectively, and were poised to secure most of the 70 reserved seats for women and non-Muslims in the house.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement secured 17 seats, while the PML-Q had three. The JUI-F and Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) obtained three and two seats, respectively. Additionally, MWM and BNP each clinched one seat.
