ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party announced a partnership with the Sunni Ittehad Council and newly elected independent candidates. This move aims to bolster their numbers in parliament and potentially form a governing coalition.
Newly elected independent candidates in national and provincial assemblies will join the Sunni Ittehad Council.
The alliance was announced alongside leaders of the Sunni Ittehad Council and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan (MWM).
PTI claims it had endorsed all nominated independent candidates and secured 180 National Assembly seats.
The coalition aims to promote unity and progress across the nation.
Applications for special seats in the Election Commission will be submitted to formalize the alliance.
PTI leader Umar Ayub stresses commitment to securing Imran Khan’s release after government formation.
The alliance could provide the coalition with the necessary seats to influence National Assembly decisions.
