Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has kicked off its ‘Haqeeqi Azadi Long March’ from Lahore’s Liberty Chowk towards Islamabad under the leadership of party Chairman and Former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Earlier, PTI Chief Imran Khan reached Lahore’s Liberty Chowk from his residence in Zaman Park to lead the party’s Long March towards Islamabad in order to force the incumbent coalition government to announce a date for early early elections.
Imran Khan was joined by senior party leaders, including Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Ali Zaidi, Shafqat Mehmood, Faisal Javed Khan, Sheikh Rasheed, Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed, Musarat Cheema, and others.
During his address to the participants of the Long March, the Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman said that it was time to start the journey towards Haqeeqi Azadi, adding that motive of the Long March is not personal or political but wants to free the nation from slavery.
Imran Khan added that decisions regarding Pakistan should be taken in the country and not in Washington and no one should direct Pakistan join others’ war.
He said that people of the country are facing the worst inflation because of the “thieves” ruling the country and demanded for fair and transparent elections in the country
Meanwhile, a large number of people reached Lahore’s famous Liberty Chowk to participate in the Long March against the incumbent government.
However, the Islamabad Administration has rejected Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) the issuance of the no-objection certificate (NOC) to hold its gathering the federal capital. The district administration has asked PTI to satisfy the administration in writing since the party had violated the NOC issued on May 25.
