Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Shahbaz Gill, has been arrested from Muzaffargarh for violating Section 144. According to the Punjab Home Minister and Spokesperson, Abdullah Tarar, the politician was held for suspicion of causing a public nuisance amid the polling process.
However, Shahbaz Gill has criticized the Punjab Government for arresting him without any warrant and refused allegations of having any guards dressed as Frontier Corps personnel. He claimed that he had been engaged for three hours and was suddenly arrested without a warrant.
Imran Khan Condemns Arrest
“Strongly condemn illegal arrest of Shahbaz Gill simply to try [and] rig elections [and] spread fear in [people],” said PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Twitter. “These fascist tactics will not work [and] our [people] will not be deterred from exercising their right to vote.” he added.
He said that handlers of the imported Government should realize the damage they are doing to our nation.
