Faisal Vawda, the Federal Minister for Water Resources belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government came on an ARY news talk show to represent the party along with other guests from opposition parties like Qamar Kaira from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Javed Abbasi from the former PML-N government.
PTI Minister Faisal Vawda in the middle of the TV program took out an army boot that the minister had apparently brought with him.
Putting the army boot on the table he said that this was today’s “democratic Noon League” and that he will taking this boot to every TV show to tell the nation about the truth of opposition party.
He said:
You [the PML-N] should have given it respect earlier like we have been doing,
You are talking against them (armed forces’ personnel) even when they embraced martyrdom. Today, when it comes to their loot and plunder Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif should hold this [the boot] and tell the people that we will respect the boot and do everything .
Both the guest from the opposition leaders left the talk show in protest after the PTI Minister went after them for taking back the proposed amendments for the legislation regarding services chief.
However, it was not before Kaira said that PTI Minister Faisal Vawda was implying that the only reason Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League -N (PMLN) had voted for Army Act was because of the pressure by the army.
