KARACHI: The Deputy Commissioner of Karachi Central District has officially cancelled the public holiday previously announced for Thursday, 29th August 2024. This decision comes after the latest advisory from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
Initially, a public holiday was declared due to anticipated heavy monsoon rains, but recent updates from meteorological and disaster management authorities have led to the rescinding of the order. Consequently, all educational institutions in Karachi’s Central district will remain open on the scheduled date.
Parents, students, and educational staff are advised to continue with their regular routines, as there is no longer a need for precautionary closures. The authorities will continue to monitor the weather situation and will provide further updates if necessary.
meanwhile, in Hyderabad the Deputy Commissioner of Hyderabad has declared a public holiday on 29th August 2024.
This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure due to the ongoing heavy monsoon rains affecting the district.
