Punjab Assembly (PA) has been in chaos as the lawmakers resorted to violence causing a delay in the session that was scheduled to start at 11:30AM. The session was delayed as lawmakers present have been fighting in the Punjab Assembly all day.
Three PTI members of Punjab Assembly have been arrested on Saturday for attacking the Deputy Speaker Dost Mohammad Mazari after voting began on the selection of the Chief Minister of the Province, while the party has also staged a walkout.
The lawmakers of the ruling party brought ‘LOTAS’ and threw them at the Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker, Dost Mohammad Mazari, while chanting slogans of “Lota, Lota.” as they lashed out at the dissident PTI MPAs, who parted ways with the party to support the opposition.

Furthermore, PTI member also physically attacked the Deputy Speaker and pulled his hair despite the presence of security guards. The Deputy Speaker left the hall after the incident and the police was brought in to control the situation, while three PTI MPAs were also arrested.

Hamza Shehbaz and Pervez Elahi are competing for the position of the Chief Minister of Punjab. It bears mentioning that Hamza Shehbaz is the joint candidate of the PML-N and PPP, while PML-Q’s Pervez Elahi is being backed by PTI for the CM Punjab.
Today’s (April 16) session of the Punjab Assembly is being held in line with ordered issued by the Lahore High Court on Wednesday.
