Punjab Considering to Extend Winter Vacations

The School Education Department (SED) in Punjab is considering to extend winter vacations in light of the severe cold wave across the province, as per a media report. According to the details, the Punjab Government is contemplating extending winter holidays by an additional week.

It is pertinent to mention that Punjab Government had initially announced winter vacations for schools and colleges from December 18 to 31, 2023, with normal classes resuming on January 1, 2023. However, a severe cold wave has gripped the province during the last week, which has the Government reconsidering its decision.

If the cold wave persists, the Government of Punjab is likely to extend winter vacations across the province. Meanwhile, the parents have also urged provincial authorities to extend the winter break, arguing that some private schools have already changed their schedules.
