The Naan Bai Association has agreed to lower the price of Roti from Rs 16 to Rs 15 following successful discussions with the Punjab government.
According to the details, the reduction in Roti price will take effect immediately, considering the ample availability of wheat and the decreasing cost of flour.
This decision emerged after productive talks between the district administration and the Naan Bai Association. A spokesperson for the Punjab government stated that the revised Roti price will be prominently displayed at all tandoors as per the agreement with the Naan Bai Association.
The spokesperson emphasized that the government, under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, is actively striving to provide relief to the public.
It’s noteworthy that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had earlier announced a reduction in Roti prices across the province via X (formerly Twitter). The announcement fixed the Roti price at Rs 16.
Initially, the Naan Bai Association had rejected the government’s decision, labeling the new price as ‘unfair’. Additionally, they threatened to launch a province-wide shutdown if their demands were not met.
