The Punjab government has notified orders for early disbursements of the June salaries to all its employees in the public sector before Eid-ul-Adha 2024. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered that the government employees be paid well before the holidays started so they could make the arrangements for the upcoming event on their own.
The Punjab Finance Department is scheduled to release the salaries by June 13, 2024, to the employees so they can attend to their expenses for Eid. This step will provide financial ease at a time of high inflation and assure that the families are able to celebrate the festival without any stress over expenses.
Eid-ul-Adha Celebrations
Eid-ul-Adha is the biggest and most important festival of Islam for Muslims worldwide. It symbolizes the willingness of Hazrat Ibrahim to sacrifice his son at the command of God. To remind one of this noble event, Muslims slaughter animals like goats, sheep, cows, and camels. Cultural and economic conditions often determine the animals to be sacrificed.
The meat is then customarily divided into three portions: one for the family, one for friends and relatives, and one for people in need—thus embodying the values of charity and community.
Eid-ul-Adha Holidays 2024
According to the details, Pakistan will celebrate Eid ul Adha from June 17 to 19, 2024, which will be observed as holidays. Since the government as well as most private offices remain officially closed over the weekend, the Eid holidays will start on June 15 for many people, thus providing an extended break for celebration.
