Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, announced that the Provincial Government would help fulfil people’s dream of owning their own house by providing house loans to low-income people in collaboration with the Akhuwat Foundation.
According to the details, the Punjab Government is going to launch a home financing program providing low-cost house loans for construction to the low-income stratum in collaboration with Akhuwat Foundation.
The Chief Minister approved the renewal of the agreement between the Punjab Government and the Akhuwat Foundation to distribute Rs. 800 million through the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency.
He added that Akhuwat Microfinance Organization would provide house loans to poorer households for the purpose of constructing their own houses.
Furthermore, he said that house loans will be given on priority basis for the construction of houses in the flood-affected areas, adding that providing a roof for the flood affectees was the number one priority of the Provincial Governemnt.
Dr Amjad Saqib, the Founder of Akhuwat Foundation, said that 100 percent recovery had been ensured in Akhuwat Loans given to 2.5 million families and low-income families had been assisted to build 36,000 houses.
