The Punjab government has put strict rules in place ahead of Eid ul Adha 2024 to ensure public safety and cleanliness. They have banned the burning of animal heads and trotters in public areas across the province under Section 144.
A spokesperson from the provincial Home Department told PTV that these rules also include proper disposal of animal remains. People are not allowed to dump sacrificial animal waste, like offal, in manholes, drainage systems, or canals. These measures aim to prevent pollution and keep the environment clean during the festive season.
The government has also banned organizations from collecting animal hides. This is to control how these animal by-products are collected and used.
To make sure everyone follows these rules, the Punjab Home Department has set up a special control room. This control room will monitor activities across the province to ensure that the rules are followed and public order is maintained during Eid-ul-Azha.
