The Government of Punjab has lifted the restriction of business timings and mandatory closure of markets on Sunday as it reversed the previous decision imposed on June 20 to converse energy in order to combat increased loadshedding being observed in the province.
According to the details, the decision was made by Chief Minister Pervez Elahi during a meeting with traders. It is pertinent to mention that previous Hamza Shehbaz-led Punjab Government and traders had agreed to enforce an energy-saving plan to combat loadshedding in the province.
According to the plan, the Government allowed new business timings allowing markets to open from 8:00 am in the morning to 9:00 pm with the exception of certain sectors like pharmacies, bakeries, and petrol pumps, while restaurants and hotels were instructed to close at 11:00 pm.
However, the Punjab CM Pervez Elahi after a meeting with traders lifted the restricted and reverted to the previous business timings in Punjab as well as canceling the mandatory closure of markets on Sunday.
