LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has announced a complete lockdown of the province starting tomorrow at a press conference in Lahore. This is being done in an attempt to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
The lockdown will start from 9:00 am on 24 March 2020 till 6 April where all non essential businesses and offices will remain closed. This includes, shopping centers, malls, markets, restaurants and parks.
All private and government offices will also remain closed however, pharmacies, grocery stores, bakeries and fruit and vegetable markets shall remain open.
The government has requested the aid of Pakistan Armed Forces under Article 245 to help with civil administration in the province.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the province has rapidly surged and now stands at 225 cases with the country’s tally at 804.
