Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has launched the Punjab Mazdoor Card to facilitate laborers across the province.
According to the details, a total of 1.2 million laborers and 6.8 million heirs registered with the Punjab Social Security Department will benefit from the Mazdoor Card.
Laborers can use the Punjab Mazdoor Card as an identity card as well as a debit card, which will be accepted at hospitals and dispensaries of the Social Security Institute as well as enlisted private hospitals across the province.
The Mazdoor Card will be linked to the Sehat Sahulat Program and various government loan schemes. Furthermore, the government is also opening the bank accounts of 1.2 million workers as part of the initiative.
Moreover, the laborers will also benefit from the Industrial Workers’ Housing Schemes and Akhuwat through the Punjab Mazdoor Card, which is going to have several other benefits such as 30 percent discount on products of more than 130 caompanies.
Laborers will also be given concessions at railways, stores, and private schools for the education of their children.
