LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has imposed micro smart lockdown in three cities (Lahore, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala) for a period of 14 days to prevent the resurgence of the coronavirus.
The micro smart lockdown will be implemented in small neighborhoods / localities in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala where police personnel will be deployed to enforce the restrictions.

Punjab micro smart lockdown will seal 12 areas of Lahore placing over 19,500 residents of the provincial capital under lockdown.
In Rawalpindi, three areas will be placed under micro smart lockdown with a population of 947 people while two neighborhoods in Gujranwala will be sealed with 53 residents.
The reason why authorities are taking steps such as enforcing a Punjab micro smart lockdown is to keep the spread of the coronavirus under control.
The situation has significantly improved with Punjab only reporting 121 cases during the past 24 hours with zero fatalities for the second day in a row.
It is pertinent to mention that so far 2,188 people have died due to coronavirus in Punjab while number of infections has surged past 91,000.
