Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas announced the reopening of all public and private schools across the province from 16th September 2021. The decision comes after the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) gave a heads up to reopening schools in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Taking to Twitter, the Punjab Education Minister said, “All Public and Private Schools of Punjab to open on Thursday 16th September, 2021 with the staggered approach.”

All Public and Private Schools of Punjab to open on Thursday 16th September, 2021 with the staggered approach. Only 50% students will be allowed in Schools on any given day. Please follow COVID SOPs issued by the government. Welcome back.
The minister added that only 50 percent students will be allowed to attend physical classes in schools on any given day and urged everyone to follow COVID-19 SOPs issued by the government.
It bears mentioning that Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood also announced the reopening of schools in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Taking to Twitter, the Federal Minister said, “I am happy to report that all educational institutions will open from September 16.”

The government had earlier announced the closure of educational institutes in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 6 September till 11 September following a surge in coronavirus cases in these provinces. However, the government decided to extend the closure for another few days due to the coronavirus situation.
