LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has decided to reopen shopping malls and also allow auto traders including production units of automobile manufacturers to operate throughout the week starting Monday according to the Minister for Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal.
However, shopkeepers in Punjab shopping malls are to strictly follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the government including wearing masks and use of sanitizers.
The Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has also decided to allow public transport to operate in the province after reports of problems faced by the public due to closure of public transport was brought to the Chief Minister.
A meeting is scheduled to take place later between the transporters and the provincial government where standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be finalized for the use of public transport to keep the spread of the coronavirus under control.
Earlier Punjab Government allowed certain sectors to reopen that included markets and parts of the construction industry. However, yesterday many markets in Lahore including Anarkali Bazaar was sealed due to violation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) by the shopkeepers and public.
