The Government of Punjab has decided revise the driving license fee starting January 1, 2024, which includes shifting from a five-year fee to an yearly payment.
According to the details, the learner driving license fee for motorcar/motorcycle will get a significant increase from Rs. 60 per five years to Rs. 1000 per year, an increase of Rs. 940, starting January 1, 2024.
Moreover, the regular driving license fee for motorcycle will be increased from Rs. 550 every five years to Rs. 500 annually. Similarly, the license fee for car / jeep will get a significant increase from Rs. 950 every five years to Rs. 1,800 yearly.
Meanwhile, the fee for heavy transport has been raised from Rs. 400 every five years to Rs. 2,000 per year. Despite increase in all types of driving license fees, the Punjab Government has decided to abolish the Rs. 20 charges for disabled individuals.
Furthermore, the Government has also revised public service vehicle license fee, increasing it from Rs. 450 to Rs. 1,500 per year. Moreover, the fees for other categories has also been revised from Rs. 100 to Rs. 1,000.
These changes come into effect starting January 1, 2024.
