Punjab Weather Update - 20th January 2023

The Regional Meteorological Department (RMC) in Lahore has issued a weather update for Punjab and Kashmir for 20th January 2022.

According to the weather update for Punjab, a light rain / drizzle is expected in Kashmir and all Districts of Punjab province, including Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Jhang, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Narowal.

It also stated that snowfall is expected over the hills in Kashmir.

The weather update stated, “Partly cloudy and cold weather is expected in most districts of province. Light rain/drizzle is likely in Pothohar region, Sialkot, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Narowal.”

Meanwhile, it added that very cold and cloudy weather with chances of rain and snow is expected in Murree, Galliyat and surrounding areas.

During the last 24 hours, there was rain and thunderstorm at isolated places in Okara, Faisalabad, Khushab, Toba Tek Singh, Bhakkar, Layyah and Sahiwal districts.

However, the weather remained cold and dry in Kashmir and other districts of Punjab province.

Furthermore, the weather update for Punjab states that no frost is expected during the next 24 hours.

The highest temperature in Punjab was recorded in Sahiwal at 21.4°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded in Murree at -2.5°C. Meanwhile, the highest temperature in Kashmir was recorded in Kotli at 18.3°C and the minimum was -2.5°C in Rawalakot.
