The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted hot and dry weather for Lahore and most parts of Punjab over the next three days. According to the PMD, continental air is currently influencing the weather across most of Pakistan.
Residents of Punjab should prepare for very hot weather conditions, especially in central and southern districts where temperatures are expected to be extremely high with heatwave like conditions. Winds that raise dust are also expected in the afternoons in these areas.
For Lahore, the maximum temperature is expected to be between 40-42°C on Monday and could rise to 41-43°C on Tuesday.
Over the past 24 hours, most districts in Punjab experienced hot and dry weather. Central and southern districts also saw strong winds that raised dust.
Okara recorded the highest temperature in the province at 44°C. Bahawalpur and Sargodha also experienced significant heat with temperatures reaching 43°C. In Lahore, the maximum temperature reached 42°C, with the relative humidity in the evening at 16 percent.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak hours, and take precautions against the hot weather.
