Railways Minister announces increase in train fares

RAWALPINDI: Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed announced an increase in train fares.

Shiekh Rasheed Addressing media in Rawalpindi said “The value of dollar against the rupee has increased owing to which rail fares will have to be revised upward”.

Pakistan Railways has introduced Free WIFI service available on major stations. 

To facilitate disable persons, special toilets will be constructed on Railway stations. 

GPS Tracking system will be soon introduced through which trains will be able to monitored. 

Sheikh said “Rehman Baba Express , Karachi To Peshawar special train for low-income labors will be inaugurated on 23 December 2018.”

Steam powered Trains (Safari Trains) to be introduced soon.

The up gradation of ML-1 from Karachi to Peshawar will be finalized by 25th of this month.

ML-1 will change the entire look of Pakistan Railways and bring economic revolution in the country and also start work on ML-2 and ML-3 to improve connectivity in the region.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan will decide about the mode of investment in ML-I.
