The 20-year-old girl, identified as Hamra, lived in Ghauri Town and was riding her scooter when she got caught in a heavy water current.

Muhammad Usman, the spokesman for Rescue 1122, reported that Hamra lost control of her scooter due to the slippery road conditions. The powerful current swept her into the nearby nullah.

District Emergency Service teams quickly launched a search and rescue operation. Rescue 1122 teams immediately sprang into action, combing the area for any signs of Hamra. Despite their tireless efforts, initial searches did not yield any results.

As the search continued, the teams extended their efforts to the Swan River area. Unfortunately, while Hamra’s body was eventually recovered, her scooter remains missing.

This incident has left the local community in shock and mourning. It also serves as a grim reminder of the dangers posed by heavy rains and inadequate drainage systems in urban areas.

Residents are urged to exercise caution during heavy rains and avoid areas prone to flooding. The authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they work to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
