The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC) is scheduled to meet in Peshawar on March 11 to search for the sighting of the Ramzan moon, marking the start of the holy month. The meeting, to be chaired by Abdul Khabir Azad, aims to gather and evaluate moon sighting reports from various regions.
In addition to the main meeting in Peshawar, zonal committees will also convene in their respective areas to contribute sighting reports for assessment. This collaborative effort ensures a comprehensive evaluation of moon sighting reports across Pakistan.
Based on the anticipated outcome of this gathering, it is expected that the first day of fasting, or Roza, for Muslims in Pakistan will likely fall on March 12. Weather analyst Jawad Memon had previously forecasted a similar start date for Ramzan in the country.
Ramzan holds significant spiritual importance for Muslims worldwide, who observe fasting from dawn until sunset throughout the month. The fasting duration typically spans between 12 to 17 hours, varying based on geographical locations across the globe. This period of fasting includes spiritual reflection, increased prayer, and acts of charity within Muslim communities.
